Angels Watching Over Me

Angel

“Angels have no philosophy but love.” Terri Guillemets

When we think of angels, most of us think of the pictures and statues we’ve grown up seeing. The woman or child who has a peaceful look on their face while gazing off into the distance. Not a single worry or care crosses their face.

This idealized vision is not what I think of when I think of my angels. The angels I’m familiar with are sprits or energies who don’t just watch over me, they do their gentle best to guide me. I can both sense them and hear them.

I feel I know some of these angels but not all. I know my father is there, along with my aunt, my former brother-in-law and my grandmother. These are angels who watch over me and help me. When I was racing, I always knew that my grandmother and my brother-in-law were riding on my shoulders. Grandma was encouraging me, telling me I could do it. I would hear my brother-in-law whistle when I navigated a particularly steep hill or sharp corner. Their presence helped me push through hard efforts and continue when I didn’t think I could.

Does this frighten me? No, not at all. I’ve always had the ability to be able to think on another plane when I was under stress, but as I’ve studied and grown, I’ve become more able to tap into this ability without having to be in an agitated state of mind.

It’s hard to explain how I know the difference between when I’m imagining conversations with someone and when I’m truly in touch with other sources outside myself. I just have a “knowing.” Sometimes there are chills, but other times I just know.

This summer I was happy to have my mother’s brother and his son come stay with me for a couple of days. One morning during this visit we were all walking to a nearby eatery to have breakfast before we went our separate ways for the day. My uncle was insistent that he had to walk on the outside of the sidewalk so he would be closer to the street. I am aware that this is the proper way for a gentleman to escort a lady, but as a single woman who has lived by herself for many years, I can assure you that I have risked walking on the outside edge of the sidewalk many times. I found his concern endearing but slightly humorous. When I laughed at his concern, he assured me that his mother, my grandmother would not tolerate his allowing me to walk on the outside. He told me he could hear her chastising him, telling him not to put her granddaughter at risk. We all laughed and continued on our way.

A few days later I was reminiscing about the visit. As I thought about what my uncle had said about my grandmother, I mentally tried to reach out to her and asked her if she had really been giving him a hard time or if he was being imaginative. I was immediately surrounded by the sound of her laughter. My grandmother died in 1996 and I hadn’t thought about her voice or laughter for years, but as I heard the sound, I could immediately identify it as her voice.

Hearing the voice of God and the angels is called “clairaudience,” which means “clear hearing.” The voice may sound like your own or it may sound different. The voice can emanate from within your body, within your mind, or sound as if it’s outside your head. – AngelTherapy.com

I have had more conversations with my father since he passed away than I would’ve dreamed of having when he was still on this plane. I frequently hear his voice telling everything’s going to be okay. With Daddy, I’ve found I have to be gentle in my requests of him. He is still ferociously protective of me and doesn’t always take the most “angelic” approach in trying to help me. I have been told that he feels he has to make amends for things that happened when I was young and he was struggling with how to be a good parent when no one had shown him how. Early in this angelic communication I got upset with a man I was seeing. I asked Daddy to “take care of him.” I won’t go into details, but the man was “taken care of” quickly and thoroughly.

Since you (like everyone) have guardian angels, and because scientific studies show that intuition is an inherent human characteristic, you can have clear conversations with your angels. The first step is to address any fears so that they don’t block your Divine communications. – Angeltherapy.com

Friends who know I have this ability and are still mourning their losses occasionally ask me to check in on their loved ones. A message here and there can help them in their efforts to move forward. It’s incredibly difficult to tell someone that their loved one doesn’t like it when they’re sad when that’s the only way the person left behind knows how to feel. It’s also incredibly rewarding to be able to tell someone that their loved one is happy and at peace on the other side. It’s even better to be able to tell them how proud their loved one is of them.

Am I unique? Of course I am. So are you. Am I unique in this ability? Not at all. I believe everyone has the ability to tune into communication with their angels. If you’re interested in finding out more about angels I strongly recommend reading Doreen Virtue and Angeltherapy.com
